Terror bid foiled in Quetta

A major terror bid was foiled by the Sariab police when they defused a powerful explosive device placed in an Alto car here at the Sariab Road on Thursday evening. Sariab police official Akhtar said that the local police received information about a suspicious car which had been parked in front of the Excise and Taxation office here. The police bomb disposal squad was called in which discovered a powerful explosive device weighing up to 10 kilograms, placed in the car. Luckily, the device failed to detonate due to a fuse failure. No group has claimed responsibility for the act. Local police are investigating the matter.
