United Bank Limited (UBL) and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) joined Lahore Eagles and Quetta Bears in the semifinals when they defeated Peshawar Panthers and Lahore Lions, respectively, in their Group A last round matches of the National One-day Cup 2011-12 (Division-II) at different venues of the country on Tuesday.

Both UBL and KRL finished their league phase with five points each. But UBL ended as group leaders with better 0.832 net run-rate compared with 0.252 of KRL. Now in the semifinals, to be held on March 9, UBL will meet Quetta Bears here at the NBP Sports Complex and defending champions Lahore Eagles will lock horns with KRL here at the National Stadium.

Karachi Zebras slumped against the Quetta Bears bowling duo of Arun Lal and Shahzaib Khan to suffer 33 runs defeat at the hands of the visitors in the National one day division II cricket here Sunday at NBP stadium.

Arun Lal took three for 23 and Shahzaib Khan two for 30 as Karachi Zebras fell for 162 in reply to winner’s total of 195 for nine. Taimoor Ali 36, Ata ur Rehman 39 and Taimoor Khan 41 in 47 balls steered Quetta Bears sent into bat first to a winnable total. Tabish Khan took two for 42 and Sohail Khan 3 for 30 for Karachi.
